A guide to getting internet "Freebies"
I'm sure you've seen them everywhere, these extremely annoying advertisements that promise free merchandise that normally costs hundreds of dollars. "Shoot three ducks and get a free iPod!" A bunch of crap, right? Wrong. With some know how and the right tools, you can really take advantage of these offers. Like most people you probably take the "Too good to be true" approach to these type of ads. While alot of these companies might be fly by night scam artists, I have set out to show people that there are some good sites out there and you really can get alot of great and "free" stuff with a minimal amount of effort. All you need are some resources and some insight on how things work.
I'm sure your first question is going to be, "How can they just give away this stuff?". To understand this you need to understand how the system works. In this guide, I will show you how to get some awesome stuff with minimal effort and hardly any cost to you.
- Sign up. First, you need to sign up for the freebie site using your email address. Just use the links under "THE GOODS" down below. Since this is your first time, I suggest doing the iPod shuffle, as it is the easiest to get. (Make sure to sign up for a "referral account")
- Complete an offer. This is the part that scares people away. No need to worry though, most of the offers are from reputable companies and cost anywhere from nothing (Free trial) to 10 dollars. Once you sign up, the freebie site gets confirmation that you have completed an offer. They also get a commission from the company that you signed up with. This is how the freebie site makes money, alot of people complete offers and then give up before getting their item. But don't worry, if you follow this guide and put in a little effort, you will no doubt be succesful. Here are a list of some of the the offers, how much they cost, and how quick you will get credit for them. Keep in mind, you only have to complete one of these.
1. True.com - Free trial period. You should get credit instantly.
2. Bargain.com - $1 for a 7 day trial, you should get credit within 24 hours.
3. Rapid Auction Success Club - $3.87 for shipping and trial period. Instant credit.
4. Real Arcade Game Pass - Free trial. Credits within a week, sometimes sooner.
5. Video Professor - Cost about $6 ($9 for Canadians) but credits instantly.
6. CellaDerm - $9 for a 7-day trial. Credits instantly.
7. Stamps.com - Free trial, Includes $5 Free Stamps. Credits in approx. 6 days.
8. FreeBidding / Driving4Dollars / Official Auctions / Shopping4Money - Cost about $6 for a 1 day trial. Credits instantly, or under 15 minutes.
9. Bidz.com - Kinda like ebay, not sure of the cost. Instant credit.
10. Blockbuster - $10 dollars, pick 3 DVD's and keep untill your trial period is up, credits in 6 days.
11. Complete Home (Lowe's) - Credits instantly, 20 dollar gift card. (Not sure about up front cost)
12. Toppik Hair Builders - Cost $5. Credits next business day. You get to keep the product.
13. EarthLink - Cost $9, and takes about 9 days to get credit.
14. RealRhapsody - Cost $1, you get 5 free songs, and instant credit.
15. TriClear - Cost $3 and credits on the same day (if not, definitely the next day)
16. CortiBan - Cost $5 and credits on the same day (if not, definitely the next day)
17. Onlingo and Advantage Language - Cost $7 and credits on the same day (if not, definitely the next day)* Keep in mind, you can cancel these offers at any time during the free trial if you are unhappy with the product. ;)
Note: To be sure that your recieve credit for an offer, it is recommended that you use Internet Explorer when signing up for it. Also, make sure your cookies are enabled. There are instructions on how to do that here.
- Get referrals. Now you need to get other people to sign up for an offer, this is called a referral. Most items require anywhere from 2-15 referrals depending on the value of the item. As I said earlier - For your first item, I would start with something that has a low referral requirement. The iPod Shuffle for example (3 referrals). First off, get some family and friends to sign up if you can, and make sure they use your referral link to do so. You will find your referral link on your "Progress" page of the freebie site. You can also see how many referalls you have accumulated on the progress page. Notice that your referral link doesn't look too appealing with all the numbers and bs in it? Well if you want to make it more appealing and have a better chance of people checking it out, just head over to Dot.tk. It is a free service that will let you take your referral link (or any link for that matter) and change it into a name of your choosing. i.e. AshleysIpodGiveaway.tk, etc.. It basically takes your newly created .tk website name, and redirects anyone who goes there to your referral link. So, you don't have many people you can get to sign up? I'm going to show you some easy ways to get referrals.. Probably the quickest way of doing it is through community web sites like MySpace and FaceBook. (I recommend MySpace.) If you already have an account on a community site, with lots of friends, great! Send out messages, and bullitens with your referral link. If you don't have a myspace account, create one. My advice is to make a "fake" account with pictures of a hot chic. You'd be surprised how many more people will take a hot girls advice over some douche like yourself. (I joke :P) Another way to do it, is to use a 3rd party program to automatically add friends, send messages, and post bullitens etc. These programs are very useful for promoting your link, but you do have to pay for them. Here are a few of the programs for MySpace that are in my opinion, the best. They cost anywhere from 15-30 bucks. Keep in mind, this part is optional, but these help out alot. If you plan on doing this more than one time, I would definately invest in one of these programs.

Don't forget; the more people see your link, the faster you will get your gift! You can also post your link in forums, chatrooms, and pretty much anywhere else. You're going to be suprised how quick the referrals add up.
- Recieve your item. Once you collect the required amount of referrals, they ship your item out to you. This is the good part! This all may seem like a pain in the ass to you, you lazy hunk of flesh. But trust me, once you get your gift in the mail; you will be one happy man-kid. You are now you are the owner of an awesome new *insert gift here*. And why? Because you took my advice, and put a little time and effort into it. Anyway, It usually takes a couple weeks for your item to show up, but it's well worth it. You can do this as many times as you want for each site and get tons of stuff. I have succesfully recieved over a grand in merchandise from doing this in the course of only a month. I wanted to create this guide so I could help other people do the same.
- *Tax Information. These items are tax free as long as they are valued under 600 dollars. Otherwise you have to fill out a tax form before you recieve the item and it is reported to the IRS.
